Safari is possible at both Nagarhole and Tholpetty in Wayanad. Both are located 25 Km from Otters creek.
Nagarhole Safari
Nagarhole forest department offers both jeep and van safaris in tieup with Jungle Lodges and Resorts, Kabini. The safari tickets are issued at Nanchi gate and starts and ends at the same point.
Safari timings –
Morning: 630 AM to 8 AM
Evening: 3 PM to 5 PM
It is required to collect tickets at the forest office before 3pm in the afternoon as there are limited seats available. Only 2 vans and 1 jeep are available for safari.
Safari cost-
Van Safari: Rs. 300 per adult (Indian)
Van Safari: Rs. 1200 per adult (Foriegner)
Jeep Safari: Rs. 1200 per adult (Indian)
Jeep Safari: Rs. 2400 per adult (Foriegner)
Thollpetty Safari at Wayanad
Jeep safaris are available at Tholpetty wildlife sanctuary, Waynad safari offered by Kerala forest department in tie-up with the local jeep operators from the self-help groups. There are limited jeeps permitted inside the forest as per the NTCA policy. 20 jeeps in the morning and 30 jeeps in the evening are permitted. Please reach early to book your safari tickets.

There is government souvenir shop near Tholpetty Waynad safari office. Forest Honey, Bamboo rice are mot preferred products in Waynad
